Dr. William Riddell Centre

The Dr William Riddell Centre houses a wide range of uses including offices, a performing arts theatre, cafeterias, an auditorium, and a parking garage. The building structure utilizes cast-in-place concrete, pre-cast concrete and structural steel. The structure was built largely throughout the winter months and was completed under a very tight budget. Special attention was paid to the building expansion and contraction joints and acoustic separations around the theatres. Heavy and unusual loading requirements were accommodated in the design. Close attention was paid to floor deflections.
