Regina International Airport
Regina, Saskatchewan
Category: Airport
Building size: 5,000 m²
Client: Regina Airport Authority
Architect: Stantec Architecture
The addition to the Regina Airport was completed in 2005.
It includes a dramatic winged roof, which joins the original
building to the new. The winged roof is a unique structural
system involving stepped bowstring beams supported on “Y” columns, which cantilever off the foundation. The building
is an open design with large amounts of glazing allowing
natural light to fill the space. The new building houses the
airport arrivals area where baggage handling and customs
clearance occur.
